Drama — Theatre Scholarship

The Cowley Theatre Scholarship is a wonderful way to pay for your education.

Financial Assistance: We offer scholarships for Full Books and Tuition each year, regardless of your major. You are required to pay for fees, food and housing, but you are not required to live on campus.

GPA Requirements: 2.5

Requirements:

  • Must be actively involved in the main stage productions (3-4 productions per year) in some capacity (ie: performance, back stage crew, stage manager, front of house, promotions).  This includes the Musical, Play, Children's Show and Act One production.
  • Enroll in required classes and receive a C or higher in each of them: Theatre Practicum (each Semester), Theatre Appreciation (a Humanities Credit), stagecraft, Intro to Dance (your PE credit), Acting.
  • Scholarship valid only if enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours at Cowley College.
  • Maintain a 2.5 or higher each semester.  While you career GPA is important, the scholarship looks to make sure you are achieving the 2.5 consistently.
  • Kindness Clause: be respectful to your fellow peers and all faculty members, be a reliable group member, and come in ready to work, focused on the task at hand.
  • If you drop below 12 credit hours, make a D or lower in your required scholarship classes, or drop below a 2.5 GPA, the school will automatically drop your scholarship.
  • Depending on the severity of the action, if you violate the Kindness Clause, you could lose your scholarship or be put on probation.  Small infractions will incur a write up.  After 3 write ups, you will lose your scholarship immediately.
  • If all requirements are met, the scholarship will self-renew each semester.
