Phi Theta Kappa Application Letters

PTKMulvane Phi Theta Kappa members, Chris Romero and Michael Nguyen, spent several hours stuffing 550 envelopes with letters of invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. The letters were sent out to eligible Cowley Students the first week in February.

Did you recently receive a letter from Dr. Patrick McAtee, President of Cowley College, inviting you to join Phi Theta Kappa? Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education with more than two million members and 1,200 chapters located in all 50 of the United States and many countries around the world. The benefits to membership are numerous, including the opportunity to apply for a myriad of scholarships worth over $30 million. All of the state universities and many of the private universities in Kansas offer Phi Theta Kappa transfer scholarships. Members’ transcripts that are sent to senior institutions bear the Phi Theta Kappa stamp. Qualifications for invitation to membership include completing 12 credit hours of non-developmental courses with a 3.5 GPA or above. .

The Alpha Gamma Upsilon chapter at Cowley College consists of two active groups. One meets at the Ark City campus (second Tuesday of each month at 3:00 p.m. in Brown Center 137) and one meets at the Mulvane/Bloomenshine Center in Mulvane (second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in Room 130).
