SAFTEY. OPERATION. SERVICE.

Cowley College offers our Fire Science certificate program to help you prepare for a job as a firefighter. Our firefighter training program covers the basics of fire behavior, fire protection systems, how to fight fires, hazardous materials, fire prevention, and more. It also has hands-on training exercises so that you can get real-life experience with fire science technology and equipment.

This program is designed to meet the learning and performance objectives specified by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standard 1001. The courses are designed to prepare you for the Firefighter I certification process. During the program, you will develop competencies to increase understanding and skills in basic fire service operations.

After completing the program, you will have the knowledge and skills needed to start working as an entry-level firefighter. Our program is a great opportunity to learn the latest fire science technologies and practices and get ready for a career in the fire service. Not many colleges in this area offer a Fire Science certificate program, so Cowley College is a great place to start.
