Interactive Television (ITV)

Students watching Interactive Television for classCowley College offers a wide variety of courses year round in the ITV rooms to help students achieve their educational goals. ITV provides the opportunity to offer courses at rural locations in our service area that may not have enough students to offer a full class on-site.

Cowley College has interactive television classrooms located on our main campus in Arkansas City and the Mulvane Center.

To view current offerings, go to Class Schedules. Select a semester (Fall, Spring, Summer.)

Drop down the By Distance Learning Mode menu and select  ITV-Interactive Television option.

ITV classrooms are equipped with cameras, microphones, and video monitors. Multiple classrooms are networked together so the instructor and students located in one classroom can interact with students in the remote classrooms.

Homework and assignments are delivered via a courier service, mailed, or faxed.

In addition, Cowley College is a member of the South Central Kansas Learning Network (SCKEN). With this association, the College is able to provide educational opportunities in the interactive television classrooms, which the member schools have in their districts. Upper division classes and graduate school classes have also been offered in our ITV classrooms from Wichita State University, Emporia State University, and Pittsburg State University.

Eight area school districts and Cowley formed this association in 1991. Member school districts all have Interactive Television facilities in their high schools with Conway Springs also having ITV in their middle school.

Contact one of the SCKEN member high schools listed below or any Cowley enrollment office for assistance with enrollment. Following are the SCKEN member districts:
