Media Club students tour St. Louis

media club students at dinner in saint louis

Cowley College director of mass communications, Meg Smith, recently took seven Media Club students to St. Louis, MO.

The group kicked things off with a Russian dinner, at Astoria Kabob House, after arriving in town. They then did some shopping and planned meals before doing homework and setting the agenda for Saturday.

On Saturday, they got up early and headed off to the Science Center for some exploration and attention to marketing and cultural exposure. After wrapping things up there, they went to Forest Park and hit the Zoo and the art museum, took pictures in the park, and walked a mile in their shoes (21,000 steps). Before ending the night, they went to the Arch, shot photos, saw the graffiti mile, and closed things down by going to Fitz’s Restaurant, visiting Union Station and the Ferris wheel.

On Sunday, the group toured the cathedral basilica with the largest display of mosaics and walked some steps in the local Ikea store.

“We talked about the articles we could write, the stories we could tell, and how STL has begun to market itself,” Smith said.
