Cowley College Celebrates Fifth Annual National CTE Signing Day
Cowley College proudly hosted its fifth annual National Career and Technical Education (CTE) Letter of Intent Signing Day on April 16, in partnership with the National Coalition of Certification Centers. The event recognized students committing to technical education pathways and celebrated the growing importance of skilled trades in today’s workforce.
A total of 29 students attended the on-campus ceremony to officially sign their letters of intent to Cowley College CTE programs. An additional student from Dodge City will sign at a later date at their high school, committing to the Construction Trades program.
Part of a nationwide initiative, CTE Signing Day highlights the value of hands-on careers and the essential role these students will play in strengthening the future workforce. By signing their letters, students made public commitments to pursue careers in high-demand fields such as automotive technology, welding, health sciences, criminal justice, childcare development, and more.
“We are incredibly proud of these students for choosing to invest in their futures through career and technical education,” said Jessica Dorman, Technical Education Support Specialist. “Events like this not only celebrate their achievements, but also reinforce the importance of skilled trades in our communities and economy.”
Among the honorees, Fisher Grunden of Belle Plaine received a Books and Tuition Scholarship covering up to 18 credit hours per semester for four semesters within a CTE program. Additionally, Felicia Shepard and Adyson Nowak were each awarded $50 Cowley College Bookstore gift cards.
Cowley College remains committed to providing high-quality, hands-on training opportunities that prepare students for successful, in-demand careers while supporting workforce development across the region.
