Breanna “Bre” Curry named Cowley College November 2025 Student of the Month

Cowley College is proud to announce Breanna “Bre” Curry as the November Student of the Month.

A dedicated student-athlete and campus leader, Curry is pursuing a degree in General STEM and currently holds a 4.0 GPA. Originally from Choctaw, Oklahoma, the 20-year-old is known for her work ethic, leadership, and strong commitment to both academics and service.

A graduate of Choctaw High School, Curry said she chose to attend Cowley College for its competitive softball program and to play for Coach Jenny Hoyt.

When she’s not in class or on the softball field, Curry works as a referee for little league basketball games and babysits at a church. During the summer months, she serves as a rehab tech at a physical therapy clinic, gaining valuable hands-on experience related to her future career goals.

“I loved Cowley because I knew it was a place where I could truly grow,” Curry said. “The community here is so welcoming and supportive, and the professors really care about helping students succeed. Cowley has provided me with an encouraging environment to do so.”

At Cowley, Curry is actively involved as a member of the Cowley Softball Team, a Resident Assistant, and a Student Ambassador. She also participates in community service activities, including hosting youth softball camps and prospect events for aspiring athletes, and volunteering with her local resource center when she’s home.

Her family plays a central role in her motivation and success. Her parents, Chuck and Kelly Curry, have been her greatest supporters in addition to her three siblings: Brooke (her twin sister who plays basketball at Oklahoma City University), Gracie (23, a PICU nurse at OU Children’s Hospital and graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University), and Clay (26, a University of Oklahoma graduate with a degree in computer engineering).

After graduating from Cowley College, Curry plans to continue her athletic career, pursue a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, and eventually attend graduate school to become a Physical or Occupational Therapist.

Grateful for the recognition, Curry said being named Student of the Month is a reflection of her hard work and the encouragement she’s received at Cowley.

“I am very thankful to be named Student of the Month,” she said. “I’ve worked really hard this semester and have emphasized having a positive attitude—it really makes a difference. I’m most happy that I get to make my parents proud by sharing this achievement with them.”

She also expressed appreciation for the support of Cowley staff and faculty, including Lynlea, Peyton, Coach J, Coach K, Mandy, Mrs. Nittler, Mrs. Wollard, and Mrs. Smith.

“I would not be in the position I am in to win this if it were not for the support system here at Cowley,” Curry said. “I am thankful for the leadership here on campus that helps guide me to where I need to be.”

Cowley College congratulates Bre Curry on this well-deserved honor and thanks her for exemplifying the Tiger spirit through her dedication, leadership, and positivity.
