Agriculture Program at Cowley College - Feeding the world through education

Cowley College now offers a new agriculture program at our Sumner Campus in Wellington, Kansas. Our program uses an interactive, hands-on approach that takes students from the concept of an idea to the point it reaches the consumer. The Sumner Campus is a new campus that will be growing over the years.

The Agriculture Department’s goal is to educate our students by appreciating the past and embracing the future of agriculture. Our program features clubs and competitive teams to enhance our student’s experiences and education. If you are tired of the same old Ag programs, we invite you to come visit and grow with us in Wellington, Kansas. At Cowley College, our goal is to feed the world through education.

Program Director

The Cowley College Sumner Campus Agriculture Program is directed by Mr. Buddy Curry, who comes to us with a vast amount of experience in teaching, coaching, and industry. Mr. Curry’s background is:

AS Degree – Northeastern Oklahoma A&M
BS Degree – Oklahoma Panhandle State University
MS Degree – West Texas A&M University

While attending school he participated on numerous competitive judging teams and served in an assistant coaching position at a university.

Mr. Curry, during his career, has taught and coached on both the community college and university level from Texas to Kansas. On top of coaching many competitive teams over the years, Mr. Curry has received many awards including coach of the year and Who’s Who Among American Teachers. He additionally has worked in the Ag industry and USDA which has enhanced his educational career.



Cowley College is now in the judging ring. The team will be traveling to all the Freshman competitions which totals about eight competitions. For more information, please contact Buddy Curry.
