High School students visit Cowley’s Mulvane Center
On Tuesday, February 21, Cowley College in Mulvane welcomed students
and representatives of Wichita State University’s College Access
Challenge Grant Upward Bound Program.
The students consisted of juniors and seniors from Wichita High Schools.
The purpose of the visit was to expose first generation college bound students to a positive college environment.
Cowley was chosen by Humanities Adjunct Instructor, Robbin Davis, as the perfect site to fulfill this objective of the Grant.
The students visited Davis’s Interpersonal Communications class, participating in the lecture and discussion. Site Coordinator, Cynthia Jones, welcomed students while Student Ambassadors provided pancakes and popcorn to all students and visitors in celebration of Mardi Gras. The students enjoyed their college experience.
