Free pancake feed raised money for Big Brothers & Big Sisters
pancakesThe Mulvane Ambassadors held another successful pancake feed at the Mulvane Center!  The pancakes were free with a donation to Big Brothers and Big Sisters.  The Ambassadors raised $65.00 in under three hours!

Calc II Class Celebrate
studentsMembers of Uwe Conrad’s Calc II class celebrate after giving their final presentations at Mulvane on Wednesday. Each student was given an application problem relating to concepts covered during the semester. The assignment was to prepare a power point presentation which was to include the approach to solving the problem, the solution and a summary. Students were to “dress to impress” as if they were interviewing for a job. read more

Mulvane CTE Tour Day 2013
Tech Day On November 21, 2013 students from Mulvane, Oxford, and Argonia visited the Cowley College Mulvane Career and Technical Education Center. Joe Clasen, Cowley’s CTE department chair, discussed the programs available at the Cowley College Mulvane CTE Center. The students toured the automotive, welding, and non-destructive testing classrooms and labs. View photo gallery.

Mulvane Math and Science Club Looked to the Future
Mulvane Math and Science ClubWith the Spring 2014 semester rapidly coming to a close, the Mulvane Math and Science Club looked to the future by electing officers for the 2014-15 academic year. The group met for the last time on Wednesday, May 7.
The meeting served as a send-off for the graduating/transferring members, a birthday party for one of the members and a farewell to advisor, Nancy Ayers, who will be retiring from Cowley at the end of this semester. As usual, food was provided, including pizza and celebratory cakes.  read more

Mulvane Math and Science Club is closing out the semester with a flurry of activities
Mulvane Math and Science ClubGrass shirts and coconut bras were the attire for the day when the Mulvane Math and Science Club sponsored their annual luau event on Wednesday, April 16th.
The next day, club members finally got to see how their home-made airplanes measured up against each other.
Sunday, April 27th, members of the club and their guests traveled to Hutchinson to the Cosmosphere. read more

Meeting twice a month, one meeting is for business and projects and the other is usually an activity or fundraiser. Some sort of food is always provided, usually prepared by Chef Conrad, with members contributing as well. read more

Pi Day The Math and Science Club at Cowley College’s Mulvane Center raised $209.89 during its annual Pie Day contest held Thursday, March 13 at the Mulvane Center. read more

PTK students honored at awards luncheon
PTKFifty-two top community college scholars from the state of Kansas, including three from Cowley College, were honored Feb. 13 in Topeka at the annual Phi Theta Kappa Honor’s Luncheon.
Representing Cowley were, Will Weeks and Kristen Phipps from the main campus in Arkansas City, and Alyssa Schartz from the Mulvane Center. read more

Chili Cook off was "hot"Chili Cookoff
The Mulvane Math and Science Club sponsored its annual chili cook off on Wednesday, November 6. As always, a wide range of chilis were entered in the contest. These included several kinds of regular chili with beef and beans, two kinds of white chicken chili, and even a meat-less, pumpkin chili. The club raised $135.00, which will be used to defray the cost of a spring field trip. The Mulvane Math and Science Club is open to any student attending the Mulvane campus. read more

Fall 2013 Academic Showcase Spotlight Student at Mulvane
Academic Showcase SpotlightDandi Smith is from Derby, KS and is currently majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in American Sign Language. She chose this performance because she loves to sign and the song "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus is upbeat and fun.

Providing students an opportunity to meet with prospective job seekers, Cowley College’s Mulvane Career and Technical Education Center hosted a job fair for Non-Destructive Testing and automotive students on Tuesday night. read more

Mulvane PTK helping with Bowl for Kids Campaignbowl for kids

One hundred youth have requested one-to-one relationships in Sumner County and are counting on the community to make a brighter future for them. Cowley College Phi Theta Kappa students at the school’s Mulvane Center are hoping to make this possible by helping with the Second Annual Cowley College Mulvane Bowl for Kids Campaign.

The event was held at the Derby Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 12. Mulvane PTK students, along with some ACES (Academic Civic Engagement through Service) students from the school’s main campus, put together more than five teams for the event.

Mulvane Clubs hold annual "wiener feast" in SeptemberWiener Feast
The Mulvane Math & Science Club opened the fall semester with its annual “wiener feast”.

Students and staff at the Mulvane Center enjoyed hot dogs, brats, sauerkraut, chips and desserts for a very minimal cost.  read more

Students see what Cowley has to offer during Medical Careers Day 
Medical Careers Day
For the sixth year in a row, students interested in a medical career had an opportunity to take part in Medical Careers Day at Cowley College. This year’s event was held Wednesday at Cowley College’s main campus in Arkansas City with a total of 58 students taking part in the day’s activities.
Participants were from Winfield, Arkansas City, Wellington, Bluestem, Newton, Derby, Burden, and Wichita North High School. read more
Cowley PTK raises more than $2,000 for Bowl for Kids’ Sake
PTK"Thanks to the help of its sponsors along with Cowley College’s Phi Theta Kappa representatives, Cowley College’s Bowl for Kids’ Sake participants raised more than $2,000 during the recent event.
Bowl For Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters’ signature fundraiser with more than a half a million people across America come together to have fun and raise money to support the cause. read more
