The scholarships listed below are from organizations and agencies that are dedicated to helping students achieve their educational goals. These scholarships are not administered by Cowley College, so you will have to contact these sources directly.
Students are encouraged to pursue the opportunities these local, regional, and national organizations offer to qualified students.

Computer Science & Computer Engineering
$1,000 awarded to a student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Areas of study that will be considered include computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, database management, computer networking, computer programming and information technology management.
Criminal Justice Law Enforcement
A $500 award will be given to a student pursuing any associate's or bachelor's degree program emphasizing Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement. Areas of study that will be considered include Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, Sociology with Law/Criminal emphasis, Corrections, Computer Forensics, and Forensic Psychology among others.
Liberal Arts & General Studies
A $500 award will be given to a student pursuing an associate or bachelor degree program emphasizing Liberal Arts, General Studies, or Humanities. Areas of studies that will be considered include but are not limited to cultural studies, ethnic studies, gender studies, geography, consumer sciences, social services, military studies, leisure studies, philosophy, political science, social science, history and religious studies.
Architecture and Drafting Degrees
A $500 award will be given to a student pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree program emphasizing Architecture, Architectural Drafting or Design, and Architectural Engineering.
Undergraduate Distance Learning Degrees
$500 award will be given to a student pursuing a distance learning associate or bachelor degree program.

Army Emergency Relief Spouse Scholarship Program
Eligible applicants must be:

Aid Report (SAR) must be postmarked by May 1.
The application can be printed form their website www.aerhq.org. Students
may apply online with supporting documents mailed with a postmark no
later than April 1.
Army Emergency Relief For Children Scholarship Program (Ursano Scholarship Awards)
Ursano Scholarship may be awarded to the children of active duty and
retired soldiers.
Completed applications deadline is April 1. The Student Aid Report (SAR) must
be postmarked by May 1.
Criteria includes financial need, academic, leadership (sports, scouts, student
council)
The application can be printed form their website www.aerhq.org. Students may

Art and Design - Associate Degree Scholarship

A $500 scholarship for students who are interested in pursuing associate level degrees related to Art, Computer Aided Design, Fashion Design, Visual Communications, Interior Design, Computer Graphics and others. A $500 scholarship for students who are interested in pursuing associate level degrees and certificates related to Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Networking, Computer Software, Database Technology, Information Security and others. Delta Theta Chi Sorority
Applications for three scholarships, three in the amount of $1,600 are being accepted by DELTA THETA CHI SORORITY, a national non-collegiate educational sorority.
Requirements call for the student to reside in the United States, have a high scholastic average, show evidence of financial need, currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college along with an application form, and attachments as specified by the National Executive Council. These scholarships are awarded annually to students of promise and distinction.
All applications must be completed and returned to a Chapter of Delta Theta Chi Sorority.

Epsilon Sigma Alpha Foundation Scholarship Information
Application Deadline is Feb. 1
- A senior high school student who will be an incoming college freshman
student with a minimum GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, OR a minimum score
of ACT 22/SAT (verbal/critical reading and math) 1030;
-A College student presently enrolled in an accredited college or university
who has maintained a “B” average (3.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale)
during his/her college career;
- Enrolled for training in a technical school or any person returning
to school after an absence to retrain job skills or obtain a degree.
(Post secondary students at any educational level).
- On-line credit tuition when obtained through and Accredited College/University/Vocational

Estelle Hamilton Gottlob Endowed Scholarship
Applicants should be Cowley College students that graduated from Arkansas City High School and plan to transfer to Wichita State University. Recipients must have at least a 2.75 grade point average and is renewable automatically if maintained. Awards will be made with regard to financial need. Applicants must complete an essay as part of the application process. The topic is “Describe a significant challenge, opportunity, or setback in your life and the impact it has had on you. What contribution do you hope to make as a student at Wichita State? (Your response should reflect your leadership abilities outside the classroom.) Please visit with Lisa Grose in the scholarship office to receive a cover sheet for your essay.
Full Tuition Scholarship Opportunity – Southwestern College
If you are looking for a college that is in-person and still offering a true residential experience, I hope you will consider Southwestern College again! We are presently gearing up for our FULL TUITION TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION.
This opportunity is for new full time transfer students that are considering Southwestern for fall 2021. Students that participate are guaranteed an additional $1,000 renewable scholarship that goes on top of any academic, activity, or athletic award and one student will win a renewable FULL TUITION SCHOLARSHIP!
The application opens April 1 and competition will take place in May.

Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship
The Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is for community college students seeking to complete their bachelor's degrees at four-year colleges or universities. Recipients can receive up to $40,000 per year toward tuition, books and other fees and expenses at any accredited four-year institution.
Each scholar has access to generous financial support for two to three years, college planning support, and ongoing advising. Students can pursue any area of study. The application opens September 13, 2018, via the Common App: https://www.commonapp.org. The completed application (including the Common App general questions, all Jack Kent Cooke specific questions and all required supporting documents) are due on November 27, 2018. Notification of award status is April 2019.

Kansas County Clerks Election Officials Association Scholarship
The Kansas County Clerks' and Election Officials' Association awards scholarships annually to Kansas high school seniors and college freshmen and sophomores, provided they carry a minimum 3.0 GPA. The scholarships are for those students who major in Journalism, Political Science, Communications, or Business. For KCCEOA scholarship application, click here.

Final deadline to apply for transfer scholarships: Feb. 1
Transfer students who have earned at least 36 credit hours
and at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
To apply for $3,000 for two years the minimum cumulative GPA is 3.75.
To apply for $2,400 for two years the cumulative GPA is 3.5 - 3.74.

Kansas Veterans of Foreign Wars Endowment Association Scholarships:
Offers scholarships to students with an affiliation to the VFW. If you are a member of the Kansas VFW/Auxiliary or are the child or grandchild of a member of the Kansas VFW/Auxiliary, then you are eligible to apply. Contact your local VFW or use the links provided below to apply.

Nursing and Medical Assisting - Associate Degree Scholarship
Applications deadline is April 1
A $500 scholarship for students who are interested in pursuing associate level
degrees, diplomas and certificates related to Nursing, Medical Assisting, Medical
Laboratory Technology, Physical Therapy, Veterinary Technology, Radiologic

Associate Degree Scholarship

United Negro College Fund Scholarships
- UNCF manages various scholarship programs and each program has its own eligibility criteria, open/close dates and required documentation. To apply for a UNCF scholarship, you must apply through the on-line application process. As many of the UNCF scholarships require that the scholarship recipient apply for Federal Student Aid, it is recommended that applicants complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Washburn University Leadership Institute scholarship
Washburn University Leadership Institute scholarship applications due November 30, 2018. Applications are available at WASHBURN.EDU or available in the Institutional Advancement Office.
- Amount of scholarship is approximately $1,000 per year and renewable for up to four years
- Earn a Leadership Studies Minor or Certificate
- Grow in personal leadership awareness and development
- Be connected to an active network of leaders
Wichita Amigos de SER
Open to all Hispanics students with at least one parent being of Hispanics
parentage.
Eligible applicants must be:
-Maintain a 3.0 GPA).
-Apply for full time status at an accredited college, university or junior
college.
Awards of $500 to $1,000 each will be granted for study leading to an associate
or baccalaureate degree. Deadline is February 28.
William and Gladys Krusor Scholarship
Applications deadline is April 30
A $1,000.00 annual scholarship is made in two payments
of $500.00 at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters and is intended
to assist students who have demonstrated a commitment to completing their
college education and who, without this support, could not otherwise
afford to do so. Before the scholarship is awarded, the student must
show proof of enrollment in the school of his or her choice. The scholarship
is for one year only, recipients may reapply. The selection committee
may request a personal interview with any applicant. Recipient of the
scholarship will be announced MAY
31. It is the desire of William and Gladys Krusor’s family, to
provide assistance to people whom might find themselves in a difficult situation
and unable to complete the education necessary to perhaps make a difference
in their lives. Applications can be picked up in the Scholarship
