Student Housing

Great Rooms. Good Food. Reasonable Costs.
You'll be impressed with the comfort and convenience of our student housing at the main campus in Arkansas City, Kansas. Our six dormitories house 500+ students, with meal plans and many amenities.

On behalf of Cowley College and the Housing Department I would like to welcome you to life living at Cowley. We aim to create an enjoyable, safe, and rewarding living and learning experience for you.

Once you arrive on campus, you will be treated as a student of higher learning. We strive to provide you with the most spacious and up-to-date living quarters of your choice in our six modern resident halls. Each hall is operated by one resident manager and up to three resident assistants. Halls will have a variety of activities throughout the year to help keep everyone involved and active within the hall community.

Rooms are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to fill out a residence hall contract as soon as possible. I hope you’re as excited as I am to work with you this upcoming year! If you have questions about living at Cowley or the resident halls, feel free to contact me.

Do I get to pick my roommate?

Yes, you can request a roommate by writing the person's name on the questionnaire that accompanies the housing contract. If you do not have a particular roommate in mind, the questionnaire allows us to place you with someone who shares your interests, study and sleep habits, etc.

How do I get my meals?

Your student ID card is scanned each time you eat a meal. All dorm residents living on campus and athletes must choose a 14 or 19-meal-per-week plan. Residents of The Lodge can opt out of the meal plan. For special food requests, contact the Dining Staff.

What is the curfew/visitation policy?

Dorms are open for visitation from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM Sunday through Thursday and from 9:00 AM to 2:00 AM on Friday and Saturday. Exterior doors are locked 24 hours a day and any guest is to be accompanied by the resident at all times. Overnight guests must be approved by the dorm manager or director of housing 24 hours in advance.

How secure is the campus?

Full-time Campus Security & Public Safety officers patrol our campus to help assure the safety of students. Anyone may reach officers by phone if any assistance is needed at 620-441-5599. There also are security cameras that cover the dorm exits and floors for the safety of students.

What if I get sick?

We have Wellness Services that provide services including weekly visits from a Physicians Assistance, over the counter medicines and vouchers for office visits to a local doctor Cowley has partnered with.
