Clubs & Organizations

Students are encouraged to participate in the many activities and clubs on campus. Students who involve themselves in campus life are more likely to enjoy their experience at Cowley as well as enrich their lives personally and professionally. Here is a brief explanation of the clubs, organizations, and activities on Cowley's campus.

The Academic Civic Engagement through Service club provides volunteer opportunities for students. All students are welcome to join. Big Brothers/Big Sisters and other volunteer organizations partner with this club.

Act One Drama Club
Act One Drama Club helps with the theater work on stage or behind the scenes for the theatrical productions at the college.

Art and Design Club
Members experience art appreciation through a variety of field trips and special events.

Members of Cowley Activity Awareness Team promote student health and wellness issues through activities on campus and in the community.

Cowley Fishing Club
All students are welcome to join this Club! We encourage our members to be an active participant in wildlife conservation; we will also teach and experience all that fishing has to offer.

Creative Claws
Creative Claws is a writing club that offers students opportunities to express themselves with poetry and other writings. The club also hosts a talent show and a comedy competition.

CQB - Collegiate Quiz Bowl (formerly AEC)
This student activity showcases quality teaching and learning at the community college level. CQB is similar to College Bowl or high school High-Q.

Diverse Tiger Club
The Diverse Tiger club will help in allowing the LGBT and straight communities to come together and inform our campus society of the concerns that both communities share.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes bring athletes together at weekly meetings for special prayer and song.

Intramural Sports
There are a variety of intramural activities offered, including: Coed volleyball, flag football, coed softball, dodge ball, basketball, kickball, soccer, frisbee golf, badminton, tennis and relay games.

The Kansas National Education Association Student Program is a professional student organization for students majoring in the field of Education. Events and activities provide members with an opportunity to become involved with educational issues while earning their degree.

Math & Science Club
All students are welcome to join this club which promotes math and science interest. This club sponsors the annual Academic Contest and national “Pi” day. Members are eligible to join the national math honor society, Mu Alpha Theta.

Media Club
Media Club is for any student interested in any aspect of the media from print to broadcast and beyond. Students are invited to attend various events relating to media from public relations, marketing, advertising to webisodes, writing and photography.

Movie Club
The movie club allows members the opportunity to explore different avenues in movies. From viewing to production, this club is for students who are interested in the film industry.

Multicultural Scholars Program
MSP is an organization which emphasizes academic and cultural mentoring and activities. Students must apply for membership in the organization. There will be individual meetings with an organizational advisor and a monthly group meeting. Tuition and book scholarships are available.

Instrumental music activities includes Concert Band & Jazz Band.
Vocal music activities includes the Cowley Choir and the Cowley College Singers.

DECA is all business but fun too. State and national competitions are just part of what members do throughout the year. Not just for business majors.

Phi Theta Kappa is a nationally recognized honor society which emphasizes leadership and service. Eligible students are invited to join this for this group.

Skills USA / VICA
Skills USA is a national organization composed of students who are enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including health professions. Students compete in local, state, and national competitions demonstrating their occupational and leadership skills. to participate.
